Alyson McMullen (she/her/elle/iskwe) is a dedicated educator, researcher, mother, and artist of Mushkego Cree, Irish, and French ancestry, committed to the transformative power of education. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), Alyson's professional journey is deeply rooted in the principles of decolonization and land-centered, inquiry-based practices.

 

Alyson is a graduate of the Waaban Indigenous Teacher Education Program at York University. She has worked as a passionate educator in the public school system, committed to transformative education goals that re-centre the needs, stories and perspectives of the underserved and underrepresented.

 

Currently pursuing a Master's in Education at York University, Alyson focuses her research on Indigenous sovereignty and equity in education, in the interest of advancing critical conversations and fostering inclusive learning environments.
