Gabrielle is Ojibway from Ketegaunseebee known as Garden River First Nation and Quebecor from Tio'tia:ke known as Montréal. She is from the Crane Clan and has experience in Indigenous education at the elementary level.
She is fluent in French, English, and is currently taking the steps to learn Anishinaabemowin.
Gabrielle is a certified elementary teacher in Ontario with her Bachelor of Education from the Waaban Indigenous Teacher Education program at York University. She is now completing her Masters of Education in the Wüléelham Indigenous Education cohort at York University and working as a research assistant. Through her studies, Gabrielle aims to develop methodologies to further understand relationships between healing and Anishinaabe education. She works to be a part of decolonization processes to create positive change for all Peoples.
She is inspired by her sixth ancestor Chief Shingwaukonse, her great grandfather Dr. Dan Pine, her grandfather Elder Willard Pine, and her father John Pine to continue the strong blood-line, honour the past, and create a better future based on the seven generations teaching.
