Patricia Sutherland (she/her/hers)

Patricia is a professional librarian and educator with over 30 years’ experience working at the intersection of libraries, education and organizational change in non-profit, public, academic and K-12
institutions. She possesses a Master of Library and Information Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Education (Global Studies in Education) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a certified Appreciative Inquiry facilitator.


Patricia is the Manager of Learning Commons Services (Libraries) at the Upper Canada District School Board and has worked extensively with the district’s Indigenous Education and Equity and Inclusion initiatives, as well as Managing Information for Student Achievement (MISA) projects.


With a background in information needs assessments and grounding in social science research, Patricia approaches her work from a collaborative, strengths-based and capacity-building perspective to ensure resources, spaces and services are inclusive, responsive and represent the communities they serve.
