This self-paced course invites educators to reflect on their role in creating more meaningful learning environments and provides practical tools to support Indigenous education in everyday practice. Learners can expect to spend approximately 4-6 hours of learning within the course; with 3 hours of video and text content, and another 3 hours for the workbook.

How long does the course take to complete?

The course includes approximately 4-6 hours of learning content, including videos, readings/resources, and workbook activities.

Learners can move through the course at their own pace.

Does this course provide ready-made lessons or activities to use in my classroom?

This course is not designed as a collection of activities or a set of scripts to replicate. Instead, it focuses on building the foundational knowledge, relationships, and understandings that support educators in making thoughtful decisions within their own contexts.

However, this course is embedded in practice and practical advice, so you will still leave with many strategies you can start implementing tomorrow!

How long do I have access to the course?

Learners receive 2 years (730 days) of access from the date of enrollment, allowing time to revisit course content, reflect, and continue applying their learning.

Do I need prior knowledge or experience with Indigenous education?

No. This course is designed for learners at various stages of their journey. Whether you are beginning to explore Indigenous education or looking to deepen your existing understanding, the course provides foundational knowledge while inviting ongoing reflection and learning.

Is this course only for classroom teachers?

No. While many examples are relevant to classroom practice, the course is designed for anyone working in education and learning environments, including administrators, support staff, early childhood educators, postsecondary educators, and community educators.
